Description
Watercolor, acrylic, and ink are all used in this stunning painting. "The Wedge" is a historical spot which overlooks three states and the artist has often painted this view from her studio windows. Terrapin Hill is seen as well as the original barn in the White Clay Creek Valley. This painting chronicles the White Clay Creek Valley in Newark, Delaware as it was seen in the 1960's. The barn was later burned down and the farmhouse was dismantled to clear land for the state parkland. Autumn is seen here in all its flowing glory. The paper is handmade and is rough in texture, which is not noticeable in the photo. The watercolor is fluid and spontaneous and detailed with the ink for special effect. The composition is strong and the colors are vibrant, as autumn itself.
