One has to see this painting in a close up view to really appreciate the tactile, ethereal mood that permeates the entire canvas. The figures are drawn, painted and pasted and then covered over with rice paper and other materials, which create a collage-like surface. They are drawn with pen and ink and acrylic paint and molded with acrylic medium for effect and mood of reverence. The painting is luminous and creates a mood not unlike the Madonna and child paintings created in oil or sculpture by the old masters.
