Description
The use of brushed on ink and well as pen and ink add to the powerful impression of hills in springtime. The painting was begun with watercolor base and then pastel was freely drawn on handmade paper while wet. The result is a spontaneous work that is made more interesting by its varied use of color and materials. It becomes a powerful description of landscape in colors of springtime. The painting has a lyrical and airy mood, which is spring itself.
