This oil is painted with palette knife and the thick impasto adds to the sumptuous quality of the oil paint. The subject is of Maine late day, an inlet nearby the artist's studio. The artist had a very special frame made for this painting, which adds to the flavor of Maine. It is a barn board frame, probably spruce, weathered wood, made in Maine for the painting by a now deceased Maine carpenter. The painting is offered with or without this frame, as long as the frame is available.
