Wet-on-wet method of painting watercolor on handmade
paper, which is 30”x22” approximately. The matting
and frame, which is gold wood color makes it overall 36x28”.
This is a creative and unique painting for several
reasons. First, daffodils and iris do not bloom in
the artist’s yard at the same time, and second, the
wild daisies are out in the fields. The overall
composition is complex and because of the unusual
coloration and the fluidity of the brushwork, it is
exciting. There is an unusual backlight in the sky.
The blue-purple color of the iris brings together the
various yellows and whites and greens and contributes
to the airy, creative impression of spring.
